FolkTool is an official one-click flashing tool for Windows, designed to simplify the installation process so that users without command-line experience can easily complete the flashing.
📥 Preparation
1. Download FolkTool
Please visit the GitHub Release page to download the latest version of the tool:
2. Prepare Boot Image
You need to prepare your device's boot.img file in advance. If you don't know how to get it, please refer to the instructions in Install / Use.
3. Enable USB Debugging
Ensure that "USB Debugging" in "Developer Options" is enabled on your phone and it is connected to the computer.
🚀 Flashing Steps
Step 1: Run the Tool
Double-click to run the downloaded FolkTool.exe. The tool interface is simple and intuitive, and will automatically detect the connection status.
Step 2: Select Image
Click the "Select File" button on the interface, browse and select the boot.img file you prepared.
Step 3: One-Click Flash
After confirming that the device is connected and the image selection is correct, click the "One-Click Flash" button.
- The tool will automatically reboot your device to Fastboot mode.
- Automatically perform patching and flashing operations.
- Automatically reboot the device after completion.
No manual command input is required throughout the process, just wait for the progress bar to finish!
❓ FAQ & Troubleshooting
Device Not Connected / Not Recognized
In most cases, the drivers included with FolkTool are sufficient to recognize most devices on the market. If your device shows "Not Connected" or cannot be recognized in the tool, please try the following steps:
- Check Data Cable: Ensure you are using the original or a high-quality data cable, and connect to the rear USB port of the computer (for desktops).
- Manually Install Drivers: If the tool's built-in drivers cannot recognize the device, you may need to manually install generic ADB and Fastboot drivers.
- Download Universal ADB Driver
- Or visit your phone brand's official website to download the specific driver.
Flashing Failed
- Please ensure that the
boot.imgyou selected matches the current system version (stock image). - Ensure that the Bootloader is unlocked.
🔄 Version Management Features
Selectable KernelPatch Versions
FolkTool supports selecting specific versions of KernelPatch for flashing, which is very useful for users who need features from specific versions:
- Version Selection Interface: Before flashing, the tool displays a list of available KernelPatch versions
- Historical Version Support: You can select older versions to avoid compatibility issues with new versions
- Version Information Display: Each version comes with detailed update notes and known issues
Quick Downgrade & Device Recovery
When encountering new KernelPatch version incompatibility or device boot failure, FolkTool can help you quickly recover:
When Device Cannot Boot:
- Put the device into Fastboot mode (usually by holding Volume Down + Power button)
- Use FolkTool to select a previously stable KernelPatch version
- Re-flash the compatible patch
Quick Downgrade Operation:
- In FolkTool's version selection interface, select an older stable version
- Follow the normal flashing process to complete
- After device restart, it will use the older KernelPatch version
Recovery Advice
If you experience boot loops or other serious issues, it's recommended to:
- First try downgrading to the last stable version
- Check that version's release notes for known issues
- After stabilization, disable auto-update in FolkPatch manager
Disable KernelPatch Update Push
After flashing is complete, if you wish to maintain stable operation with the current version, you can disable update push in the FolkPatch manager:
- Open FolkPatch Manager
- Go to General settings
- Find Disable KernelPatch Update option
- After enabling this option, you will no longer receive push notifications for new versions
Warning
After disabling updates, you need to manually check and download new versions. It's recommended to upgrade only after confirming new versions are stable.
🆘 Complete Recovery Guide
When your device cannot boot due to KernelPatch version incompatibility, follow these steps:
Step 1: Enter Fastboot Mode
- When Powered Off: Press and hold
Volume Down+Powersimultaneously until Fastboot screen appears - Connect to Computer: Use USB cable to connect device to computer
Step 2: Use FolkTool for Recovery
- Run FolkTool, the tool will automatically recognize the device in Fastboot mode
- In the version selection interface, select a known stable KernelPatch version
- Re-select your
boot.imgfile - Click One-Click Flash and wait for completion
Step 3: Verify & Disable Updates
- After device restarts, confirm the system is running normally
- Go to General settings in FolkPatch manager
- Enable Disable KernelPatch Update
- This prevents future incompatibility issues
Prevention Measures
- Before updating to new versions, check community feedback first
- Keep a known stable KernelPatch version as backup
- Regularly backup important data
